KEW Macadamias is a small business started in HOMEBUSH, Mackay, North Queensland
Owner and operator Katie Wessling has grown up in the Macadamia industry.
You could say she was born to work with nuts.
Her Grandfather Jack Wilson started out working for Gray Plantations back in 1974 and when he retired in 1989 His son and Katie's father, Kim Wilson, stepped up and became the General Manager of Gray Plantations and also is the current chairman of the Australian Macadamia Society.
Gray Plantations is now a large well established Macadamia plantation on the Far North Coast of NSW and in August 2005 they bought 350 acres in Mackay North Queensland.
On this property they have one of the largest Macadamia nurseries in Australia that can hold up to 100,000 Macadamia seedlings. Here in Mackay is where Katie and her husband Graham live and work. Graham is the farm manager of the properties in Mackay.
While Katie is at home looking after their children she is also trying to run a business in selling macadamia nuts and hopes to continue on the family tradition of working in the industry.
KEW Macadamias is committed to bringing you top quality macadamia nut at a low cost.
